REGISTRATION REQUIRED
Join the Chesapeake Bay Foundation for our signature underwater grasses restoration program! Grow out your grasses at home until May and then join us for one of our planting events in the James, Rappahannock, or Potomac rivers! (Planting must be at a sanctioned CBF event and at a permitted CBF location).
FIRST, sign up here to attend our online workshop to learn how to plant and care for your underwater grasses.
SECOND, sign up for one of the distribution dates below to pick up your equipment. There is a $50 fee (to be paid when you register for your Equipment Distribution date) for equipment rental. Equipment kits include two desk lamps, aquarium heater and pump, concrete mixing tub (3'x2'x1.5' approximately), growth pans, thermometer, and extension cord. Participants must provide their own light bulbs, construction-grade sand, and soil (backyard is fine). Kits must be monitored at least every three days, preferably every day.
If you registered for the 2020 event and already have your growth kit, you will be able to register to pick up seed only at no charge.
In order to participate in the 2021 season, you must register to attend this virtual workshop AND register for an equipment distribution day. Links for the following equipment distribution registration and payment will be included in your Virtual Workshop confirmation email.
