Hopewell Riverside Park Tree Planting

Saturday, November 7, 2020
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Riverside Park
599 North 12th Avenue
Hopewell, VA 23860

Join us for a fun morning in the crisp fall air, planting trees at Hopewell Riverside Park. These trees will reforest an area of the park, improve water quality, combat local flooding, and provide habitat for birds, bees, and other pollinators.

We will be planting a wide variety of medium-sized trees, but the holes will be partially pre-augered. No prior experience planting is necessary! We will provide all of the tools, gloves, and instructions you need for a successful planting. Wear weather-appropriate clothes, sturdy shoes, and bring your own water bottle. Please register below so we can bring the appropriate number of tools.

COVID-19 Precautions:

  • All volunteers and staff will be required to wear CDC-approved masks (neck gaiters and bandannas are not allowed as acceptable face coverings for any CBF activity) and must complete an online health form the morning of the event.
  • We will sanitize equipment prior to volunteer use and upon return. Participants will be provided with a shovel and any other necessary equipment labeled with their name. We ask participants to only use those materials while planting trees.
  • In an effort to maintain social distancing, participants will also receive a map indicating the specific trees that they are responsible for planting.

Please keep in mind that we will be limiting the number of volunteers who can participate in this event. Only register if you intend to participate on the day of the event. If you find that your schedule or health prevents you from being able to attend, please notify us immediately so we can recruit another volunteer in your place.

If you have questions, please contact Gabby Troutman at gtroutman@cbf.org or 804-258-1605.

This event is co-sponsored with Hopewell Recreation and Parks.

Can't make this event? We will be planting more trees throughout Hopewell and would like to know if you are interested in assisting with future plantings. Please contact Gabby Troutman at gtroutman@cbf.org or 804-258-1605.

We're sorry, the deadline for registering for this event has passed.
