Join us for a unique fishing tournament that focuses on restored oyster reefs throughout the Maryland portion of Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. This tournament is a bit different. We’re celebrating species diversity, and the return of some of these great reef species that we’ve been missing. Prizes will be awarded for how many species you catch, and then how big your fish are. Past Rod and Reef Slam tournaments have shown as many as 12 different species being caught in one day. How many can you catch?
The Maryland Rod and Reef Slam Tournament:
Runs from 6:30 a.m. on October 9, 2021 through 12:00 p.m. on October 17, 2021.
Anglers who catch the most different species of fish can win a grand prize worth up to $1,400 in Under Armour fishing apparel and All Tackle gift certificates. Division winner prizes also include a range of items from All Tackle, Under Armour, and more.

ENTRY FEE: $25 Includes tournament entry. Tournament shirt included.

YOUTH ENTRY: Youth aged 17 and under may participate for free with a participating adult. Email the name(s) of any youth entrant(s) and their participating adult's name to information@ccamd.org with the subject "Rod and Reef Youth Entry" and we will connect their iAngler account to the participating adult’s account.

Many partners have worked together to build these reefs, including the NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office, the Army Corps of Engineers, Coastal Conservation Association Maryland, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Oyster Recovery Partnership, and Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

This Rod and Reef Slam Tournament is supported is by the Chesapeake Oyster Alliance, a coalition of over 70 non-profits, oyster growers, academic institutions, and businesses working toward a goal of adding 10 billion new oysters to Chesapeake Bay waters by 2025.  Please visit chesapeakeoysteralliance.org to learn more.
