Time:

Location:
Carroll County, MD

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

After a long and unusual spring and summer, fall is here, which means it's time to plant trees with CBF! Join us on a Saturday morning for one of our Farm Stewardship events in the Monocacy River watershed in Carroll County.

We'll plant 1,200 native trees and shrubs to protect Piney Creek which runs into the Monocacy River and then to the Chesapeake Bay.

We love trees — they provide food and shelter for wildlife, provide cleaner air and cooler temperatures, increase property values, sequester carbon, and reduce polluted runoff. These plantings are critical to our clean water efforts — capturing and filtering out pollution before it enters our streams and tributaries, and helping alleviate flooding through stabilizing the soil.

This event is suitable for adults and families. Plan to dress for the weather, as this event is outdoors and will be held rain or shine. Bring shovels, work gloves, a reusable water bottle, and lunch. We will have a limited number of clean gloves and shovels available at the site, and light snacks and water bottle refills will be available.

COVID-19 Precautions:

  • All participants and staff are required to wear CDC-approved masks. Neck gaiters and bandannas are not allowed as acceptable face coverings for any CBF activity.
  • We will sanitize all CBF equipment prior to volunteer use and upon return.
  • We like all of you, but let’s do our best to keep our distance to 6-10 feet — for our safety and yours.

Space is limited, register now! Please keep in mind that to enable safe social distancing we will be limiting the number of volunteers who can participate in this event. Only register if you intend to participate on the day of the event.

If you have questions, please contact David Tana at DTana@cbf.org.

Funding for plant material comes from Sterling Planet and WGL Energy.

We're sorry, the deadline for registering for this event has passed.
