The Brock Learning Series is made possible with support from Jean Jenkins and Mike Newell.
Advocacy: the act or process of supporting a cause or proposal.
When working to save a natural resource like the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries, a holistic strategy includes public education, physical restoration and, of course, effective advocacy. The next BEC Learning Series event will explore the latter—environmental advocacy—the part most everyone agrees is key, but not everyone is as keen on, usually due to lack of familiarity. This event’s agenda aims to change that by discussing the most effective and efficient ways to make your voice heard as described by professional environmental advocates, elected officials and more.
The event is timed to give you new ideas and proven tools to employ in advance of the Virginia General Assembly (Jan-Mar 2020), perhaps the most decisive time for the Chesapeake Bay here in Virginia every year. As an added bonus, many of these tactics can be applied to other social or environmental issues you care about year-round!
We look forward to sharing this critical component of saving the Bay and answering your questions in December!
