Southside ReLeaf is giving away small trees to homeowners in Southside Richmond, Virginia, at no cost to the homeowner. The program is in partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation as part of the Greening Southside Richmond Initiative.

Fifteen species of trees and bushes are available. Please complete the registration form to indicate which species of trees you would like to receive. Each household may order up to two trees. Trees will be provided in either 2-gallon or 3-gallon pots. Two-gallon trees are typically between 10-inches to 2-1/2 feet tall. Three-gallon trees are typically between one- and three-feet tall.

Trees may be picked up in-person on Saturday, October 16, at the Hickory Hill Community Center between 9 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., or, if you are unable to pick up yourself, they can be delivered to your home. Volunteers are also available to assist with planting the tree on your property. Volunteers will consult with homeowners on the location where trees will be planted.

Funding for this tree giveaway is provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Forest Service through the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s Chesapeake Bay Stewardship Fund.
