CBF created the Volunteers as Chesapeake Stewards (VoiCeS) program in 2004 as a way to reach out to local volunteers and their communities and create a deeper understanding of the Bay and the efforts to restore it. VoiCeS is CBF's most in-depth adult education program available to its members and the public. We are excited to host another year for the Baltimore region! This year's program will be held virtually via Zoom.

Learn about Bay science and fisheries, pollution problems and solutions, and how volunteers can help restoration efforts in their local waters and the Bay. In this professionally taught course, you will learn about:

  • Pollution issues and solutions
  • Local geography and science
  • Fisheries, oysters and other wildlife
  • How to play a personal role in restoration and action in your community and Chesapeake Bay region

The VoiCeS program culminates in a service requirement of 40 hours on a Bay-related project(s) of your choosing. Successful graduates receive CBF's designation as "Chesapeake Stewards."

We hope to plan a field experience at a later date when we can safely gather.

Materials fee: $25.00/person or $40.00/couple
