Tuesdays, 7:00-8:30 p.m. October 6 - November 17 (no class November 3)
This year CBF's adult education program, Volunteers as Chesapeake Stewards, or VoiCeS, is going virtual! This is the first EVER watershed-wide VoiCeS program, but we'll still have plenty of opportunities for you to learn all about issues impacting your own community.
The course will include 1-2 hours of pre-recorded materials you can watch at your leisure each week. You will join weekly live online classes for overview of different topics and Q&A with the speakers on Tuesday nights. Some classes will be watershed wide and some will be just with your region. A field trip will be held for each region at a later date when we can safely gather.
In this professionally taught course, you will learn about
Armed with their classroom knowledge, this year's VoiCeS participants will be encouraged to achieve 20 hours of volunteer work throughout the coming year on behalf of improving local water quality and the Chesapeake Bay. Past participants' efforts have ranged from writing editorial pieces for newspapers to restoring an entire shoreline. Participants are encouraged to develop projects that draw on their natural talents and interests.
FEE: The course fee is $25 per household, which includes one seat on the Zoom webinars. We understand the current pandemic has created challenges for many people. Therefore, we have a limited number of spaces available for those who wish to participate but cannot manage the registration fee at this time. If you’re interested in this option, please contact Tanner Council at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are excited to host an engaging online course and connecting like-minded folks who are excited and willing to learn from passionate experts in the Chesapeake Bay region.
