School Improvement through Environment

Open to Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. school leaders.

Maryland, Pennsylvania, and D.C. principals and other school leaders are invited to join CBF for a three-day immersive adventure exploring the Bay and the unique waterman’s community on Tangier Island. Participants will learn how to use environmental education to enhance learning in any curricular area in a way that empowers staff and engages students. We will participate in hands-on investigations and learn how to implement a successful environmental education program at your school that will boost academic achievement and environmental literacy. We will also explore the positive effects that environmental education has on student mental health and well-being, discipline, and building 21st century skills. You will be able to network and share ideas with other principals from around the watershed and learn how to certify as a green school.

Length & Location: 3 days/2 nights at CBF's Port Isobel Island Environmental Education Center.
Cost:
No fee due to support from the Doherty Foundation.
