While litter is easily preventable and can be picked up by anyone on any given day, tackling the major threats to the Bay's watershed, like degrading habitat, polluted runoff, and nutrient pollution, requires broad support. Clean the Bay Day often performs as a gateway program through which children and adults alike embrace environmental stewardship of their waterways.

One of the most rewarding aspects of Clean the Bay Day is the ability to make a difference with the people we love.
