Welcome to Forward Brewing's Momentum Initiative fundraiser for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation: Clean Bay, Clean Beer! We are donating funds to plant oysters to filter the amount of water we use to brew beer.

An oyster filters 50 gallons of water each day, and it only costs 1 cent to plant 1 oyster! This means that it costs us very little to plant enough oysters to clean the equivalent amount of water we use in brewing.

In fact, it cost roughly 50 cents to plant enough oysters to clean the water we used in our first 50-barrel batch of Boat Beer. This may seem miniscule, but imagine how quickly we could reach the goal to plant 10 billion oysters in the Chesapeake Bay if other breweries, restaurants, or you, chipped in? You can match a batch of beer, or donate however much you’re able.

As we move into our Eastport home and begin brewing more regularly, we will continue donating to plant oysters to filter the equivalent of all the water we use. Join us and keep the momentum going.
