As many of you know, I love long walks. While I have participated in walks, runs, and half-marathons in the past, I have avoided fundraising associated with these activities.
Over the years, I have enjoyed sailing and swimming in the bay with my friends, occasionally docking at St. Michael’s and sleeping overnight in the boat. I have also visited the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in Annapolis and admired their work to educate local farmers, youths and residents on protecting the watersheds and keeping the bay clean. So it’s payback time.
I am writing to ask for your support and participation in achieving the goal of walking 200 miles to raise funds. Since the initial modest target of $200 was reached within 24 hours, I am setting a new target of $ 500.
It would be fun reaching both goals with your participation. I know many of you go for walks regularly. Come and join forces. For this purpose, I have created a virtual team called “Walk The Talk” in honor of my friend and ex-colleague Prabhakar Tamboli who often advised me to “walk the talk” on protecting the environment and our water supply.
Thank you again for your support.
