Three years ago, I visited my good friend, Dr. Emmanuel D’Silva, in Maryland who took me to some scenic spots around America. Among these was the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis. The beauty of the bay remained with me when I returned to India.
So, when Emmanuel decided to participate in the 200-mile “Walk the Watershed” and invited me to join, I jumped at the offer. I wanted to make a difference. I also liked the idea of joining his international team of friends, family, and former colleagues in the virtual walk across four continents.
I walk an average of 3 miles a day in the basement of my house (see video) in Bhopal, Central India because my city is locked-down on account of covid-19 and I suffer from sciatic nerve pain, which requires me to sit frequently in between walks. Despite these limitations, I am delighted to contribute in cash and miles to help preserve the bay.
