2020 Walk the Watershed

Healthy You, Healthy Bay

During the uncertain times of COVID-19 and social distancing, we kept moving forward and taking steps to save the Bay. Walk the Watershed allowed our community to virtually unite and explore new ways to connect with one another and the remarkable ecosystem we work to defend. Together we took a pledge to focus on healthy habits and a healthy Bay!

From May 7-June 30, 2020, walkers from across the world took a pledge to build a team and walk a combined 200 miles, the approximate length of the Chesapeake Bay. These walkers raised awareness and vital funding for CBF every step of the way.

For more than half a century, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation has led a landmark effort to save the Chesapeake Bay—a national treasure on which the health and wellbeing of more than 18 million people and 3,000 species of plants and animals throughout the Chesapeake Bay Watershed depend. We educate tens of thousands of people each year, advocate for better public policy, and hold governments and polluters accountable, while performing essential hands-on restoration.

With the support of people like you who understand and value the vital relationship between water quality and quality of life, we won't just Save the Bay®, we will keep it saved.
