Hello All -
I am in the final days of Walk the Watershed. I have put in over a 100 miles running or walking since it began and raised $200 dollars to support CBF's mission to Save the Bay. If you want to help me get over 200 miles or donate towards CBF's mission there is still time. Team Village People welcomes any and all help!
See below for more about Walk the Watershed and why I am thankful every day for my village. This last year has reminded me to be grateful and take nothing for granted.
Take care friends!

Welcome to my Chesapeake Bay Foundation Walk the Watershed page and the return of Team Village People!
What a year it has been since CBF held the first Walk the Watershed! The year has challenged us all in many ways. I am deeply saddened by the loss of loved ones and hardship that so many people are enduring but grateful for the slower pace and perspective that came with the pandemic.
Getting outside, being in and around the water and experiencing new parks close to home have been key to my mental and physical health this past year. I think many people had a rekindling or new-found appreciation of our natural resources when so many other activities came to a halt. We need to turn that appreciation into action!
By participating in this year's Walk the Watershed I will continue to spread the message about how precious our natural resources are and that all of us have an active role to play in Saving the Bay and our environment.
Some of you may be asking - why is Alison's team named Village People? Or you may have started singing "Y-M-C-A" in your heads when you read my team name but it is not those Village People inspiring this team name. I am fortunate to live in a neighborhood where we take care of each other like a village from small things to life changing things. It looked different this past year but it was another constant that kept us all going. We have walked many real and virtual miles together and I can think of no one better to help inspire me, come along for some miles, help Save the Bay than this group.
Over the next few weeks and 200 miles, I hope to raise awareness on why cleaning the Bay means so much to me, help bring dollars in at a time when environmental budgets remain tight and connect with my village in order to recharge and restore.
Want in on the fun? Join Team Village People - put in some miles with me! Or donate to the effort! Or do both if you are so inclined.
Take care, get outside, help Save the Bay and stay connected to your village.
Alison
