Welcome to my Chesapeake Bay Foundation Walk the Watershed for Philip's 50 Birthday page.
Over the next few weeks, I will raise awareness and vital funding towards CBF’s mission to save the Bay. Starting Monday April 19th I will be logging miles walked on a daily basis. More specifically, on my birthday, Monday May 3rd I will be walking the Elizabeth River Trail forwards and backwards. I will start at the Hermitage Museum & Gardens where the Chesapeake Bay Foundation has had amazing success with Oyster Reef restoration efforts. I welcome all who wish to join me in this "socially distanced" walk along the Elizabeth River Trail. I plan on backpacking all the way to Norfolk State University and back again. I will continue to log miles walked until May 15th. You can too if you wish to join my team and raise funds and awareness for a healthy Chesapeake Bay. Every dollar raised supports restoration and education efforts across the watershed. This important work provides a stable ecosystem for the 18 million people and 3,000 species of plants and animals throughout the watershed.
I hope you will support these efforts by donating to my page or by joining my team. Together we will take steps towards clean air, clean water, and sustainable resources for all. A healthy Bay means a healthy community.
Every gift makes a difference!
· $25 can plant five native trees as a streamside buffer.
· $50 can grow 5,000 native oysters.
· $140 can send two students for a day of learning in and around the Bay.
· $500 can build 10 reef balls which are effective and safe artificial homes for oysters.
Please donate on my page today and help me meet my fundraising goal and help CBF Save the Bay!
